Movie vs. Book:

The ending in the movie is very different form the one in the book. 

In the book it ends with the pigs still in charge of animal farm but in the movie it ends with the other animals starting a riot against Napoleon and his villains. The reason for this is properly that the movie wishes to have a happy ending because it sells better. Many people like to see the good ones triumph. 

This is the difference worth mentioning.

Themes:

The theme in the book/movie is a criticism of the communist regime in Russia. One could say that Animal Farm is a story with a moral message about the Communist Revolution and least of all the consequences. The communism is representing by the quote “All Animals are equal but some are more equal than others”. 

In the book/movie the power, consider the pigs most and they lead the farm as Stalin lead the Soviet Union. Therefore, themes as confidence, greediness and selfishness are very characteristics from the book/movie. The overall theme throughout the book/movie Animal Farm must be corruption.
