  1. Explain what ‘a class divided society’ means. Compare class division in A Christmas Carol and Animal Farm.
A class divided society is a society where there is a wide gap between poor and rich. The divide could be both social, financial, racial or based on your level of education. You can compare Napoleon and Ebeneezer S. They are both members of the high-class society, while the other animals at the farm and the "working class" represents the low-class society.

  1. ”All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” With reference to humans rather than animals, how true is this of society today?
With reference to Danish society it is clear that everyone is equal but the Danes are more equal than the foreigners. If you look at general rights of the Danish people it is clearly not equal e.g. the new point system for family unification, the test foreigners have to pass to become a Danish citizen and the fact that foreigners do not have the same rights to get cash benefits.
We have rules and forms to ensure that all people are equal, but due to political systems and the divide between social clases, humans do not have the same opportunities in their lives.

  1. Is it possible for a society ever to be completely democratic? Justify your answer with reference to past and present social groups that you are familiar with.
No, no matter how democratic a country will be there will always be someone who is in charge and has more power than others. Someone has to be in control and decide for the sake of others – the question is then- how much should that person decide?
