Ernest Hemingway Blog

Ernest Hemingway was born July 21st 1899 and he died July 2nd 1961 because he shot himself in the head. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois and he lived in Ketchum, Idaho at the time of his death. He was a famous author who wrote social realistic novels, but before that he had also worked as a reporter, war-correspondent and an ambulance driver in Italy. He started his writting career early by writting and editing the newspaper, Trapeze, at Oak Park and River Forest High School.
He wrote a lot of different novels in his lifetime (Ex.: "The Sun Also Rises", "The Old Man and the Sea", "Death In the Afternoon") and in 1954 he won the Novel Prize in Litterature but since he had been in an accident in Africa he was unable to come to Stockholm and recieve the prize.
