The relationship between the man and the wife

-          He can’t handle a rich man’s world where she comes from

-          He says all the time that he likes her, but it looks like that he doesn’t mean it

-          Self-centered and acts like a baby

-          It is not the ultimate relationship

o   Money?

o   Is it true love?

o   Maybe not mutual love?

o   Quote – “Your money was my armor…” (Page 43 – line middle)

o   Quote – “Do you love me? No, I don’t think so. I never did” (Page 41 – line middle)

o   He excuses himself to get away. Afterwards he shouts at her.

-          He takes his frustrations out of her. It is maybe because he is on his deathbed.

-          Through his flashbacks he said that he only wanted her for the money

o   Quote – “It was strange, too, wasn’t it, that when he fell in love with another woman, that woman should always have more money than the last one? (Page 45 – line 17-18)
